Qatar is a peninsula some 11,437 square
kilometer in size, located half way down to the coast of the Arabian Sea. Qatar
is well connected to the sea, land and air. It is a mixture of old and modern
tradition with a touch of Arabian culture, heritage and warm hospitality.

main source of living in Qatar is
from the sea, oil discovered in 1930
and now gas. Qatar is the one of the

Capita basis. The Emir, His Highness
Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani
took over the reign of power on 27th
June 1995. The official language of
the country is Arabic, however English
is widely spoken and understood. All
official documents are completed in
Arabic. The country is liberal with
respect to accommodating foreign cultures
and Islam is the official religion
of Qatar. The attraction in Qatar
is the sea with its sandy white beaches,
the desert with its endless stretches
of sand, sand dunes and man-made attractions.

Climate: The country is having
a moderate desert climate with hot summers and mild winters. Rainfall is very

Visa Information: Except for
GCC nationals, all visitors to Qatar require a valid visa. Documentation and
requirements do change from time to time and it is always advisable to check
with your nearest Qatari Embassy or with the Airlines or your preferred Travel
agent well in advance. |

Qatar has
many historical and archaeological attractions that would give a glimpse of the
origin of the Bedouin and Arabian history. Many archaeological activities
resulted in discovering more than 200 sites dating back to different
prehistoric and stone age eras, in places such as Umm-Bab in the east, Sawda
Nathil in the far south, Umm-Tagah, south east of Dukhan, where a site of stone
tool-making industry dating back to the middle Stone Age (Mizoloti) was found.
Other archaeological sites were found in south eastern Messaieed. |

There
are many historical forts and citadels which is remains of the Arabian history
and tradition. Some of them include Al-Zubarah fort ,Marroub Fort, Al-Ghuwair
Castle, Al-Thughb Fort, Al-Rakiyat Fort, Barzan Tower, Umm Salal Mohammed Fort,
Al-Wajbah Fort and Al-Jassasiya. |
